Higher Business Support Officer (Oldham)
25th May 2023We are currently recruiting for a Higher Business Support Officer in Oldham.
Pay rate: 10.90 per hour.
Contract duration: Temporary ongoing
Purpose:
To provide effective and comprehensive higher level business support by working as part of a team and through the provision of more service-specific administration duties.
Duties:
• Send out invitations, prepare for and minute social care meetings.
• Distribute key documents to professionals and families.
• Provide administrative support, working to competing and changing priorities and demands.
• Provide an excellent level of customer service when responding to incoming telephone calls, covering reception, and working as part of a team.
• Use computer packages and internal systems and communicate with a variety of audiences.
• Securely manage confidential and sensitive information.
We need you to have:
• Experience in minuting meetings.
• Good organisational skills and be able to work on own initiative.
• Experience of providing a high standard of customer service.
• Experience of ordering goods and services and undertaking financial tasks.
• Be a flexible team player, able to work at pace with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge and experience of using computer packages and internal systems.
• Knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulations.

– Customer service skills to deliver polite, courteous and efficient service to customers, colleagues, partners and service users
– Use analytical skills and be resourceful to solve varied problems
– Use initiative to respond to unexpected problems using recognised procedures and policies as a guide
– Organisational skills to provide administrative support to meetings, seminars and other (large-scale) events
– Problem solving skills to interpret information/situations to solve a range of problems
– Produce work to required standards with little close supervision
Education and qualifications:
Essential:
Sufficient literacy and numeracy to undertake the tasks and duties of the role
Desirable:
NVQ 2 in Business Administration or equivalent
European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
Experience:
Essential:
– Using computer packages for word-processing, spreadsheets and databases
– Using the Internet and sending/receiving e-mails
– Undertaking administration / clerical tasks
– Following financial procedures and monitoring budgets
– Completing tasks to deadlines, re-prioritising own work if necessary
– Experience of following instructions, procedures and policies
– Team-working to work effectively with others and meet deadlines and goals
Desirable:
Experience of using Windows operating system and Microsoft Office programs
