We are currently recruiting for a Force Major Incidents Team Support in Preston.

 

Pay rate: PAYE 10.90 Per hour.

Contract duration: Temporary ongoing

 

Duties: 

  • Type documentation, both audio and copy, complying with typing protocols as required by Holmes V16. To provide administrative support to on-going investigations in terms of typing statements, reports and other documentation as required.
  • Transcribe audio/digital products, to include suspect/witness interviews, bodycam footage, PINS and covert products to support investigations.
  • To understand and maintain the confidential nature of FMIT working practices and operations.
  • Proof reading and quality assurance of all documentation, making amendments as required, to ensure accuracy for production to the Crown Prosecution Service and other agencies as appropriate meeting timeliness and quality requirements.
  • Deal with general enquiries from Police Officers, members of the public, other Departments and Divisions, and other Police Forces and agencies, both in writing and via the telephone, enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Create, maintain and accurately update manual/electronic filing systems, archiving and retaining documents for the appropriate periods when cases are finalised.
  • Takes Minutes in briefings and management team meetings. Produce an accurate record of the meeting and distributing same to internal staff and outside agencies.
  • Interrogate IT systems in accordance with corporate policies and procedures and accurately maintain, input and extract data throughout all MIR processes.
  • Complete Crimsec forms and liaise with the Home Office regarding their submission.
  • Carry out basic research on HOLMES to support MIR staff and retrieve data in support of current and potential new lines of enquiry.
  • Register documentation onto HOLMES, and create sufficient index details to enable such documents to proceed into the MIR.
  • Carry out any other administrative duties as required such as the maintenance of display boards, staff contact details, duties and stationery requirements.
  • To support regional and national CPD events as required, to include booking, organisation and co-ordination of the event.
  • To be aware of the Department’s objectives and ensure compliance with deadlines whilst working with minimal supervision, organising and prioritising own workload.
  • To carry out any other duties which are consistent with the nature, responsibilities and grading of the post.

 

Knowledge/Experience: (Essential)

  • Experience of working in an administrative/clerical role within a busy office environment dealing with confidential information
  • Experience of audio typing/transcription of both audio and video products
  • Experience of working with information or material of a sometimes sensitive or distressing nature
  • Experience of maintaining strict confidentiality, using tact and diplomacy where applicable and of working in partnership with other departments and agencies

  • Experience of using Microsoft Software Applications, including MS Word and Excel
  • Experience of interrogating and maintaining computerised and manual filing/recording systems
  • Experience of producing accurate written information and demonstrating a high level of attention to detail
  • Experience of working to deadlines and tight timescales, within a busy environment
  • Experience of working with minimal supervision, organising and prioritising own workload

Desirable:

  • Experience of researching and creating indexes on HOLMES
  • Experience of minute taking

 

Qualification: (Essential) 

Intermediate typing/word processing/audio qualification i.e. RSA II, ULCI III, IBT2, ECDL &/or ability to type at 35 wpm.
