Job Details:

We are currently recruiting a Management of Sexual/Violent Offenders Officer Based in Welwyn Garden City on a 3 month contract. 37 hours per week.

Job purpose:
To manage an allocated caseload of registered sex offenders by means of conducting home visits, carrying out risk assessments and risk management plans in line with the Active Risk Management System, identifying and addressing such risks by deciding upon a robust risk management strategy.
To provide guidance and work closely with Probation offender managers, Safer Neighbourhood Teams and local partners to develop plans to manage individual registered sex offenders
To perform as officer in the case for investigating cases pertaining to Registered Sex Offenders, gathering evidence, carrying out suspect interviews and grading indecent images of children as necessary
To represent the organisation at Professionals meetings, such as MAPPA, Care Plan meetings, Core Group meetings.
To identify, assess and report concerns identified by sex offenders’ contact with children and vulnerable persons, working with other departments and external agencies to ensure that information is shared, to safeguard against further harm.
Apply for search warrants, undertake searches of premises of arrested or detained persons, evaluating, seizing and taking control of material for further investigation.
Produce specialist written evidence and deliver that evidence in court.

Essential skills and experience:
Experience of using Cycomms and RIPA
Knowledge of the MAPPA protocol and process
Ability to deal with casework and court file preparation in a demanding environment
Experience of working in a multi-agency environment

Desirable:
Active Risk Management System (ARMS) trained
Risk Matrix 2000 assessment trained
CAID trained- grading indecent images of children
Experience of Fieldsearch (or its successor) of offenders’ computers
Mobile phone download trained
Experience of IMS Input and Sanitising
Experience of installation and monitoring of online risk management software
PNC and CSS trained
