Investigator (St Aldates, Oxford.)

We are currently recruiting an Investigator on a 6-month contract based in St Aldates, Oxford.

Providing support to both Police and Staff Investigators. Statement taking, CCTV enquiries and general investigative duties.

Candidate needs to have experience of taking statements, not necessarily in a policing background. If no candidate can be found at the 2E Support level then the line manager will consider the PIP 1 Investigator level. Will be working in Domestic Abuse Investigation Unit.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS:

Define the important aspect of the role for which the job holder is responsible for results or outcomes. The key result areas in the role are as follows

1. Provide an accurate and efficient evidence collection support function to a mixed economy team of Police Officers and staff to assist in the investigatory process.
2. Record witness/interview statements from interviews and ensure section 9 PACE statements are legible, meet the required evidential and quality standards and comply with the CPS guidelines.
3. Provide an accurate and efficient administrative function for a mixed economy team of Police Officers and staff.
4. View and capture key evidence, prepare viewing logs and complete recording logs in accordance with identified best practise, national policy and procedure to meet the requirements of OIC and partner agencies.
5. View CCTV/Media Viewing footage as circumstances dictate; particularly investigative tape reviews, copying relevant footage, obtaining evidence from mobile phones and issuing video-prints when necessary and identifying further investigative opportunities.
6. Attend court to give specific evidence where required and, including evidence of exhibits and to support the prosecution team.
