We are currently recruiting a Case Administrator (Safety Camera & Tickets) based in Shalford. 36/37 hours per week.

Job role:

To prepare and process the administration of all Fixed Penalty Road Traffic offences and Penalty Notice for Disorder (PND) offences generated through static and mobile cameras and via Traffic Offence Reports (TOR) received from Police officers.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the preparation and administration of offences generated by the Force including Safety Camera Detections, Traffic Offence Reports (TOR), Fixed Penalty Tickets (FPT), Penalty Notices for Disorder (PND) and Vehicle Defect Rectification (VDR).

Accurately input and administer all Road Traffic and Public Order offences using bespoke systems such as PENTIP, ATLAS, Hummingbird Document Manager (DM), EROS, Driver Validation Service (DVS), NDORS and Niche; enabling effective and efficient processing, ensuring appropriate outcomes within prescribed timelines as laid out in legislation and guidance from the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC) and NDORS.

Prepare and process different forms of evidential offence media and images (including digital, DVD and wet film) generated from static and mobile cameras and identify offences and determine the correct course of action for the severity of each offence and maintain the scrutiny of evidence throughout the entire process.

Actively promote and encourage national educational diversion courses as an alternative to prosecution for offenders in order to change driver behaviour and improved road safety; and for PNDs refer appropriate offenders to Alcohol and Drug Diversion Schemes in order to educate and assist rehabilitation.

Respond to all forms of correspondence and provide a first point of contact for the public and all internal and external stakeholders, for technical, legislative and general enquiries; ensuring that that any disclosure is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation.

Prepare court files, including statements on behalf of Safety Camera operators and Police Officers for all Road Traffic and Public Order offences, ensuring all evidence is contained in readiness for prosecution.

Attend court when required and give concise, factual evidence on behalf of the force (this requirement is infrequent).

Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade and character of work as may be reasonably required, including specific duties of a similar or lesser graded post.

Requirements:

Essential:

Holds GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
Proficient IT skills including use of Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Excellent communication skills including letter writing, confident telephone manner and conflict resolution
Able to work accurately at speed with great attention to detail
Able to work in a target driven and pressurised environment to tight timescales
Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team
Able to use own initiative including the ability to prioritise and organise workloads
Able to adapt style and embrace change quickly and appropriately to suit the circumstances
Able to problem solve efficiently and effectively and to make quick decisions based on the facts presented
Appreciation of data protection and information security

Desirable:

Experience of using the following software and IT systems: PENTIP; EROS2; NDORS; Police National Computer (PNC); NICHE
Knowledge of the following legislation: Road Traffic Act 1988; Public Order Act 1986; Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988; Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984
Good knowledge of Police procedures
Consideration and appreciation of reputational risk
