{"id":948,"date":"2024-01-26T11:47:32","date_gmt":"2024-01-26T11:47:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/?post_type=jobpost&#038;p=948"},"modified":"2024-01-26T11:47:32","modified_gmt":"2024-01-26T11:47:32","slug":"forensic-administrator","status":"publish","type":"jobpost","link":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/?jobpost=forensic-administrator","title":{"rendered":"Forensic Administrator"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>We are currently recruiting for a Forensic Administrator in Preston.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Pay rate:<\/u> <\/strong>11.75 per hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Contract duration: <\/u><\/strong>Temporary ongoing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Purpose:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To maximise the effectiveness of Forensic Evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Duties:&nbsp;<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Undertake any general\/clerical admin duties as and when required such as case file weeding \/ archiving, preparing cases \/ forensic exhibits for return, updating spreadsheets with case results etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support with researching and collating intelligence information from multiple internal systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Record marks received from police forces in England and Wales onto a footprint database.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain and update the footprint database.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide forensic advice in areas where appropriate experience\/knowledge has been gained.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Liaise with manufacturers to maintain current records of all makes and designs of footwear, updating records as required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide a quality service to improve primary detections through scientific means in line with force policies, strategies and Home Office policies and initiatives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carry out any other duties which are consistent with the nature, responsibilities, and grading of the post.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Taking biometric samples from people (DNA &amp; fingerprints). This will involve interaction with people and may involve manipulation of persons hands to produce a good set of elimination fingerprints.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chemical preparation \/ Lab maintenance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Knowledge\/Experience (essential):&nbsp;<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to accurately process and record information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience of utilising computerised systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evidence of communicating effectively both face to face and over the phone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evidence of working with minimum supervision, making decisions and taking action as appropriate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in an office environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate an ability to seek self-development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Apply online or contact Terri O&#8217;Keefe on 07879 585551.
