{"id":871,"date":"2023-09-01T14:54:36","date_gmt":"2023-09-01T13:54:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/?post_type=jobpost&#038;p=871"},"modified":"2023-09-01T14:54:37","modified_gmt":"2023-09-01T13:54:37","slug":"internet-intelligence-investigation-officer","status":"publish","type":"jobpost","link":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/?jobpost=internet-intelligence-investigation-officer","title":{"rendered":"Internet Intelligence Investigation Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>We are currently recruiting for an Internet Intelligence Investigation Officer in Putney.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Pay rate:<\/u> <\/strong>18.72 per hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Contract duration: <\/u><\/strong>Temporary ongoing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Purpose:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The role holder will gather and develop internet intelligence by researching data systems and providing information, intelligence products and reports utilising open and closed intelligence sources, in order to collaboratively support the analysts, researchers and police officers working under the Strategic Intelligence and Briefing Team (SIB).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The post holder will support the wider objectives of the SIB, which is the identification and assessment of risk, briefing and coordination of the flow of intelligence relating to aggravated activism, strategic protest and significant public order events across the United Kingdom (UK) to identify and mitigate risk, harm and threat. They will play a key role in this through the proactive intelligence development of individuals and groups responsible for this threat and risk.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The role holder will also use open source intelligence to identify opportunities and support the ongoing work of the SIB, and be a subject matter expert in this area of work. The SIB provides intelligence and assessment for both police and law enforcement stakeholders and forms part of the National Police Coordination Centre\u2019s folio.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Duties:&nbsp;<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Establish the requirements of key stakeholders to ensure that these are met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Gather and develop internet intelligence by researching data systems and providing information, intelligence products and reports utilising open and closed intelligence sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Interrogate appropriate technical resources including national systems, open source and external databases: extracting effectively and efficiently to provide a high level of service to NPoCC SIB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Undertake special investigative and speculative searches where required in support of SIB intelligence development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Provide open source intelligence support to the SIB\u2019s thematic pods in respect of national strategic protest themes and trends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Promote internet intelligence within the SIB and support the delivery of training within this area of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Be proactive in identifying new methods of research, tools and software to enhance the open source capability of the SIB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Act as a subject matter expert for advice and guidance to SIB staff on all matters relation to internet intelligence and open source research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Ability to explain technical language relating to internet investigation to ensure the gathered material can be understood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Ability to prepare complex evidential \u2018internet intelligence\u2019 products and present at court as required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:11px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Essential Skills:&nbsp;<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Excellent knowledge of computer operating systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Advanced Internet Intelligence training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Knowledge and experience of Open Source Tactics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Ability to research and interrogate to a high level police information, intelligence systems and open source intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Knowledge of advanced internet investigation techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Knowledge of what data can be captured from devices, digital media and emails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Ability to ensure that all activities and research are compliant with RIPA, Computer Misuse Act, ECHRA and DPA legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 A high degree of self-motivation, personal responsibility and organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Due to the nature of the role and the requirements of the different agencies that you will liaise with, candidates must either currently hold, or be willing to undergo and then successfully attain \u2018Security Cleared\u2019 (SC) vetting status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Able and willing to work shifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:22px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Apply online or contact Terri O&#8217;Keefe on 07879 585551.
