We are currently recruiting for a General Operative in Oldham.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pay rate:<\/u> <\/strong>10.90 per hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contract duration: <\/u><\/strong>Temporary ongoing<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purpose:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ensure the security of the buildings and its contents and maintain high standards of cleanliness. To carry out daily inspections to ensure the health and safety of the site and to report any defects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duties: <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– The opening and closing of the premises, including gates. To ensure that the safety and security of the building is maintained at all times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Entering health and safety checks are completed to ensure compliance and entered correctly on Weblog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Cleaning designated areas, internal and external of the premises, if required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Report heating & lighting control \/ malfunctions to appropriate personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Emptying litter bins, recycling, keeping bin areas tidy, pick up litter from around the building, report drain\/gutter blockages to appropriate personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Re- arranging furniture on clients\u2019 instructions and movement of small pieces of furniture between sites<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Meeting and monitoring contractors on client instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Maintaining safe working practice in all areas for staff and families with regard to Health & Safety<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skills and Abilities:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Work to deadlines<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Maintain and update records on an Weblog (an electronic Health and Safety system)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Undertake general basic building repairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Use modern day cleaning techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Work with a flexible approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Ability to converse at ease with members of the public, service users \/ customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experience: <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Essential:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Experience of cleaning gained in a working or domestic environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Experience of securing premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Experience of monitoring maintenance contractors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Desirable:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Experience of security in a building environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
