{"id":636,"date":"2023-03-08T14:21:51","date_gmt":"2023-03-08T14:21:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/?post_type=jobpost&#038;p=636"},"modified":"2023-03-08T14:21:51","modified_gmt":"2023-03-08T14:21:51","slug":"sheltered-housing-officer-swindon","status":"publish","type":"jobpost","link":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/?jobpost=sheltered-housing-officer-swindon","title":{"rendered":"Sheltered Housing Officer (Swindon)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>We are currently recruiting for a Sheltered Housing Officer in Swindon.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Pay rate:<\/u> <\/strong>PAYE 11.93 per hour\/UMB 14.64 per hour<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Hours:\u00a0<\/u><\/strong> 08:00am-16:30pm- 37 hours per week<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Contract duration:<\/u><\/strong> Temporary ongoing<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Department: <\/u><\/strong>Housing and Planning<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Purpose:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This challenging role will see you working within a team to provide Sheltered Housing services at a number of sites following recent changes to our model of service delivery. You will share our passion by ensuring our residents receive the highest service standards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Duties:\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide a morning welfare call to residents who have requested it.<\/li>\n<li>Assist residents and residents groups to make sheltered housing happy, vibrant and safe places to live.<\/li>\n<li>Generally support residents to live independently. Liaise with family, social care and medical professionals if appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee building security including using CCTV equipment if installed.<\/li>\n<li>Report safeguarding concerns and attend appropriate strategy \/best interest meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out a range of health and safety and compliance checks within buildings (including fire alarm testing and safety checks, water hygiene checks, intercom checks etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Keep accurate and up to date records of residents \u2013 including medical conditions \/ emergency contacts etc to be used in an emergency situation.<\/li>\n<li>Report and keep a record of communal repairs and assist residents who are unable to report repairs.<\/li>\n<li>Complete accident, incident and near miss forms when appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Check scheme emails and ensure that all records are kept in line with GDPR guidance. Liaise with the control room ensuring that records are accurate and up to date<\/li>\n<li>Assist with contactors carrying out work at the site, enabling access to the site and ensuring work is carried out in a safe manner.<\/li>\n<li>Attend on site emergencies. (Lift failure, fire alarm activation etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the general cleanliness of the scheme and grounds, and manage the cleaning assistant. Ensure cleaning materials are kept in line with COSHH guidance.<\/li>\n<li>Deal with ad-hoc calls and enquiries relating to sheltered housing residents.<\/li>\n<li>Promote and encourage communal scheme activities.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the guest accommodation and take appropriate payments for its use.<\/li>\n<li>Deal with minor tenancy matters and disputes between residents.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with residents who appear to be failing within their tenancies by signposting them to additional support and\/ or liaising families, GPs , social care agencies etc.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to travel between several Sheltered Housing locations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Knowledge and Experience:\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Candidates must have substantial knowledge and experience in the following areas of business and will be required to provide evidence of this:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum: Working in a sheltered\/supported housing\/ care environment or related housing field. (e.g. tenancy management \/ homelessness \/allocations etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Minimum: Basic IT knowledge (emails etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Minimum: Keeping accurate records \/short reports<\/li>\n<li>Preferred: Experience in staff supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Preferred: Experience in building management.<\/li>\n<li>Preferred: knowledge of housing tenancy management.<\/li>\n<li>Preferred : knowledge of Health and Safety<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Qualifications:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum: GCSE C or above English or significant compensatory experience of written communication.<\/li>\n<li>Preferred : NVQ level 3 or ONC in Housing ( or related field) or studying towards<\/li>\n<li>Preferred: First Aid at Work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Apply online or contact Terri O&#8217;Keefe on 01925 377 878.
