\nThe post holder will be required to do the following:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Reviewing of Historical Special Branch files and making an informed decision on the retention or destruction of currently retained files.
\n\u2022 Files may require scanning or further archiving for future inquires.
\n\u2022 Accurate updating of databases in excel and cross referencing.
\n\u2022 Close liaison with other inquiry teams and legal representatives.
\n\u2022 Close liaison with freedom of Information teams in a time critical manner.
\n\u2022 Close liaison with storage facility and distribution teams.
\n\u2022 To reduce physical archive to a digital format or removal to deep storage.<\/p>\n
\nKey Skills
\nThe post holder must have:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 An understanding of the Government Security Classification Policy (GSC), Management of Police Information, Freedom of Information Act and the Data Protection Act.
\n\u2022 Understand the importance of information security and its role in the protection of intelligence from accidental or non-authorised disclosure.
\n\u2022 Ability to work well as part of a team and under pressure.
\n\u2022 A good level of keyboard skills and computer literacy
\n\u2022 Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to summarise information.
\n\u2022 Be able to enter data quickly and accurately.
\n\u2022 Excellent attention to detail
\n\u2022 Good decision making and problem solving skills
\n\u2022 Currently DV vetted.
\nExperience
\n\u2022 Previous experience of working in a CT Intelligence environment
\n\u2022 Previous experience of working with archival records
\nDesirables
\n\u2022 Recent experience of working within a CT environment
\n\u2022 Familiar with NCIA
\n\u2022 An interest in worldwide affairs \/ Counter Terrorism<\/p>\n
