{"id":383,"date":"2020-10-21T11:36:18","date_gmt":"2020-10-21T10:36:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/?post_type=jobpost&#038;p=383"},"modified":"2020-10-21T11:36:18","modified_gmt":"2020-10-21T10:36:18","slug":"professional-standards-investigator-biggleswade-and-or-letchworth","status":"publish","type":"jobpost","link":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/?jobpost=professional-standards-investigator-biggleswade-and-or-letchworth","title":{"rendered":"Professional Standards Investigator (Biggleswade and \/ or Letchworth)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"job_description\">\n<p>Pay Rate \u00a316.04 Per Hour.<br \/>\nContract 6 months<br \/>\nWorking Hour: Mon \u2013 Fri 37 hours<\/p>\n<p>We are currently recruiting 2 Professional Standards Investigator to work for our law enforcement client based in Biggleswade and \/ or Letchworth.<\/p>\n<p>The post holder will be responsible for completing public complaint or gross misconduct investigations and compiling professional investigations\/reports.<\/p>\n<p>The roles will be contract positions, looking to start asap and will last for 6 months initially.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Identify witnesses and other relevant individuals to ascertain what evidence or information they can provide.<br \/>\n\u2022 Identify opportunities for gathering and preservation of evidence, forensic, electronic or written.<br \/>\n\u2022 Analyse collected evidence and Intelligence provided in all forms to support investigations.<br \/>\n\u2022 Gather and collate evidence and intelligence for the production of a case file for submission to Crown Prosecution Service and or Head of Investigations allowing determination of case progress.<br \/>\n\u2022 To act as officer in case (OIC) and lead on decision making within the case.<br \/>\n\u2022 To conduct criminal, conduct and public complaint investigations as directed by the Appropriate Authority.<br \/>\n\u2022 To make referrals to the IOPC as per the statutory guidance when the criteria is met during investigations.<br \/>\n\u2022 Carry out the role of specific point of contact (SPOC) for the IOPC in respect of Independent complaint and conduct Investigations.<br \/>\n\u2022 To consult and negotiate with legal Counsel in respect of cases appearing before public gross misconduct hearings.<br \/>\n\u2022 Present cases \/ give evidence at staff and officer disciplinary proceedings having ensured that the evidence presented has been accurately and effectively researched, investigated and presented.<br \/>\nExperience<br \/>\n\u2022 Knowledge of The Police Reform Act 2002 \u2013 Schedule 3,<br \/>\n\u2022 The Police Complaints and Misconduct regulations 2012,<br \/>\n\u2022 The Police Performance Regulations 2012, Code of Ethics,<br \/>\n\u2022 IOPC Statutory Guidance to the Police Service<br \/>\n\u2022 Proven investigative ability relating to complex crime civil cases acting as the officer in the case<br \/>\n\u2022 Proven investigative interview skills.<br \/>\n\u2022 Proven ability to provide high quality written reports<br \/>\n\u2022 A working understanding of the Criminal Justice System.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to interrogate databases to obtain information required.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to prepare documentation for case files and presenting case at proceedings.<br \/>\n\u2022 Previous experience of consultation and negotiation with legal counsel<\/p>\n<p>Apply online or contact Lloyd Bailey on 01925 377 878 for more information.
