{"id":353,"date":"2020-01-30T11:46:19","date_gmt":"2020-01-30T11:46:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/?post_type=jobpost&#038;p=353"},"modified":"2020-01-30T11:46:19","modified_gmt":"2020-01-30T11:46:19","slug":"intelligence-analyst-sheffield","status":"publish","type":"jobpost","link":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/?jobpost=intelligence-analyst-sheffield","title":{"rendered":"Intelligence Analyst (Sheffield)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are currently looking for an Intelligence Analyst to join our client on a full-time, 12 month contract based in Sheffield.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To provide tactical analytical support to assist in cartel intelligence gathering and analysis and cartel investigations under the criminal and civil regimes.<\/p>\n<p>To review intelligence and \/ or investigation material and advise the case team leader on the most appropriate way to collate, analyse and present it for the purposes of the proposed criminal prosecution and \/ or civil proceedings. To analyse and associate intelligence and \/ or investigation material to identify key evidence, potential further lines of inquiry and primary witnesses.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct complex and wide ranging analysis in support of the National Crime Agency\u2019s Annual Plan, National Control Strategy and other identified priorities in the fight to cut serious and organised crime.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Evaluate and assess intelligence, data and information gathered from multiple sources, understanding the availability and suitability of each source;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Carry out analysis in support of law enforcement objectives, using appropriate tools, techniques and systems;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify intelligence gaps, patterns, relationships, trends, threats and opportunities and make inferences, deduce new meaning and develop recommendations;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Produce, present and disseminate appropriate and relevant analytical outputs e.g. products for evidential or intelligence purposes or to inform tactical, operational or strategic decision-making;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Deliver briefings and presentations, making recommendations to support the decision making and risk management process;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure appropriate and secure handling and dissemination of material in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop expertise in one or more analytic specialisms (as required by role);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain an awareness of developments and good practice in analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desirable<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>IPP Accreditation in a relevant role;<\/p>\n<p>Formally trained in Intelligence Analysis (NCA Analyst Foundation Part 1 and Part 2, Level 4 Diploma in Intelligence Analysis, NIAT, GIAT, DIAM, ANACAPA or equivalent).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Basic understanding of the use of intelligence, data, information and evidence by law enforcement agencies;<\/p>\n<p>Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. CPIA, ECHR) and its impact on the role and Agency activity;<\/p>\n<p>Awareness of analytical tools and techniques;<\/p>\n<p>Good understanding of information management and data integrity issues.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Analytical\/data interpretation skills;<\/p>\n<p>Problem solving skills;<\/p>\n<p>Writing\/drafting\/presentational skills;<\/p>\n<p>Numeracy skills;<\/p>\n<p>Interpersonal skills and effective communication; ability to influence, negotiate and persuade.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Experience of researching and gathering information from a wide range of sources;<\/p>\n<p>Experience of assessing information, conducting analysis and presenting results;<\/p>\n<p>Experience of evaluating information to determine its utility and application;<\/p>\n<p>Experience of presenting findings from research or analysis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Contract: 12 months<\/p>\n<p>Pay Rate: \u00a314.30 per hour<\/p>\n<p>Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday \u2013 Friday<\/p>\n<p>Location: Sheffield<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you wish to apply, please do so online or contact Lloyd Bailey at Peel Solutions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are currently looking for an Intelligence Analyst to join our client on a full-time, 12 month contract based in&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","template":"","jobpost_category":[],"jobpost_job_type":[67],"jobpost_location":[28],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/jobpost\/353"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/jobpost"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/jobpost"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=353"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=353"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"jobpost_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fjobpost_category&post=353"},{"taxonomy":"jobpost_job_type","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fjobpost_job_type&post=353"},{"taxonomy":"jobpost_location","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fjobpost_location&post=353"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
