\n12 MONTHS (part-time 2 days p\/w on Thurs\/Fri)<\/p>\n
To manage\/supervise a team responsible for the acquisition and development of tactical and strategic intelligence and\/or prevention initiatives focused on serious and organised crime affecting the UK.
\nProvide operational support, advice and guidance to police throughout the UK into the investigation of serious crime. Ensure national\/local strategy, policy, legislative frameworks and operational priorities are developed and promoted amongst NPCC, Law Enforcement partners and government departments (as appropriate).<\/p>\n
This is a specialist post supporting and advising law enforcement and forensic practitioners on injury causation and forensic medical issues using a unique worldwide service \u2013 the National Injuries Database \u2013 both nationally and internationally. It is part of a critical national service as designated by the Home Secretary.<\/p>\n
The role requires supervision of the National Injuries Database (NID) Case Support Officers and Placement Students, to provide national and international support and advice using the National Injuries Database for evidence-based cases on injury causation and forensic medical issues resulting in operational reports to assist with decision making in major and serious crime investigations and to conduct research for published articles and stated cases on medical requests.<\/p>\n
To support and assist with the instruction and sourcing of the relevant medical and forensic experts for evidential opinions for court.<\/p>\n
To advise and promote good practice in the imaging of injuries.<\/p>\n
To assist with the development of the National Injuries Database and to quality assure all cases that are inputted onto the NID by the Case Support Officers and Placement Students as well as the Child Death Database \u2013 Operational Marshall.<\/p>\n
To provide management statistics and performance reports as required by the Manager.<\/p>\n
To present the services of the National Injuries Database team to law enforcement and forensic practitioners both nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n

\nA Forensic Science Degree or equivalent crime scene \/ major crime experience.
\nDesirable:
\nA proven ability to present to individuals at all levels.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Experience of analysis, research and interpretative skills including the use of a database.
\n\u2022 Proven experience of supervising a team and working to tight deadlines.<\/p>\n
