This is a 12-month contract.<\/p>\n
In this role you will be required to conduct complex and wide-ranging analysis in support of an Annual Plan, National Control Strategy and other identified priorities in the fight to cut serious and organised crime. You will also conduct cross-source data exploitation and make recommendations to support the proactive and reactive development of intelligence, to gain new insights into criminal activity and understand our impact on the threat presented by serious and organised crime.<\/p>\n

\nEvaluate and assess intelligence, data and information gathered from multiple sources, understanding the availability and suitability of each source;
\nCarry out analysis in support of law enforcement objectives, using appropriate tools, techniques and systems;
\nIdentify intelligence gaps, patterns, relationships, trends, threats and opportunities and make inferences, deduce new meaning and develop recommendations;
\nProduce, present and disseminate appropriate and relevant analytical outputs e.g. products for evidential or intelligence purposes or to inform tactical, operational or strategic decision-making;
\nDeliver briefings and presentations, making recommendations to support the decision making and risk management process;
\nEnsure appropriate and secure handling and dissemination of material in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures;
\nDevelop expertise in one or more analytic specialisms (as required by role);
\nMaintain an awareness of developments and good practice in analysis.<\/p>\n
\nDesirable:
\n\u2022 IPP Accreditation in a relevant role;
\n\u2022 Formally trained in Intelligence Analysis<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Basic understanding of the use of intelligence, data, information and evidence by law enforcement agencies;
\n\u2022 Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. CPIA, ECHR) and its impact on the role and Agency activity;
\n\u2022 Awareness of analytical tools and techniques;
\n\u2022 Good understanding of information management and data integrity issues.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Analytical\/data interpretation skills;
\n\u2022 Problem solving skills;
\n\u2022 Writing\/drafting\/presentational skills;
\n\u2022 Numeracy skills;
\n\u2022 Interpersonal skills and effective communication; ability to influence, negotiate and persuade.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Experience of researching and gathering information from a wide range of sources;
\n\u2022 Experience of assessing information, conducting analysis and presenting results;
\n\u2022 Experience of evaluating information to determine its utility and application;
\n\u2022 Experience of presenting findings from research or analysis.<\/p>\n
