{"id":287,"date":"2019-08-12T23:36:37","date_gmt":"2019-08-12T22:36:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/?post_type=jobpost&#038;p=287"},"modified":"2019-08-12T23:36:37","modified_gmt":"2019-08-12T22:36:37","slug":"disclosure-officer-lancashire","status":"publish","type":"jobpost","link":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/?jobpost=disclosure-officer-lancashire","title":{"rendered":"Disclosure Officer (Lancashire)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are currently recruiting a Disclosure Officer based in Lancashire on a 6-month contract.<\/p>\n<p>KEY RESULT AREAS:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tBe prepared to work with minimal supervision.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tBe responsible for examining and certifying the disclosure of all material gathered during the investigation and the prompt production of accurate, comprehensive schedules for the CPS Prosecutor, either manually or by use of the HOLMES 2 system.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tLiaise with SIO, CPS and Prosecution Counsel on all aspects of the unused material in the enquiry, including justification for sensitivity classifications attributed to material and PII issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tTo attend SIO led briefings in Major Incident Room.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tEnsure compliance and consistency as regards the \u2018relevancy\u2019 test as outlined in the Disclosure Manual and the relevant Code of Practice.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tAdvise the SIO and CPS in relation to Third Party issues, evidence, continuity, and material that undermines the Prosecution case or assists the defence.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tTo facilitate and supervise authorised access to unused material by defence lawyers where appropriate\/if appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tTo give advice, guidance, and support to the S.I.O regarding disclosure issues and ensure all Major Incident Staff appreciate the implications of disclosure rules.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tAttend conferences with Prosecuting Counsel and CPS and SIO, if and when required.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tAttend court, as required, to address issues of disclosure as they may arise, acting as a single point of contact between CPS and SIO providing support throughout to the CPS, Prosecution Counsel and Court.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tBe prepared to travel at short notice to attend meetings, address urgent issues with CPS and represent department both locally and nationally.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tTo carry out any other duties which are consistent with the nature, responsibilities and grading of the post<\/p>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<p>Essential:<\/p>\n<p>To have an understanding of The Criminal Procedure &#038; Investigation Act 1996 and The Criminal Justice Act 2003 (Codes of Practice)<br \/>\nExperience of prioritising own workloads and working quickly and accurately under pressure to meet deadlines with minimum supervision<br \/>\nExperience of utilising a wide range of IT applications<\/p>\n<p>Desirable:<br \/>\nExperience of interviewing and recording statements from witnesses having identified their potential contribution<br \/>\nExperience of working in an MIR environment on complex \/ protracted enquiries.
