We are currently recruiting an Authorised Officer for a local authority based in Northampton. This is a permanent role. \u00a324,873 \u2013 \u00a328,340 a year. 37 hours a week.<\/p>\n
We are specifically looking for a food qualified officer that is able to carry out food inspections at manufacturing and retail premises and farms and take food and feed samples.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:
\n1. To investigate alleged offences in accordance with relevant legal requirements and report appropriate matters. To provide evidence in court in relation to such matters.
\n2. To contribute to community protection initiatives which help the public to protect
\nthemselves.
\n3. To work effectively with partner organisations to achieve relevant outcomes.
\n4. When necessary to supervise support staff that are allocated to him\/her.
\n5. To ensure Service policies and procedures are met in relation to the matters above.
\n6. Demonstrate awareness\/understanding of equal opportunities and other people\u2019s
\nbehavioural, physical, social and welfare needs.
\n7. Ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of you and other persons, and to comply with the policies and procedures relating to
\nhealth and safety within the department.
\n8. Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the grade of the post.<\/p>\n
Experience\/knowledge required:
\n\u2022 Five \u2018O\u2019 levels or GCSE\u2019s at grade
\n\u2022 C or above
\n\u2022 Ability to travel to different Locations
\n\u2022 Trading standards food qualification
\n\u2022 Previous experience of criminal Law Enforcement and dealing with confrontational situations.
\n\u2022 Ability to understand and interpret relevant legislation and standards.
\n\u2022 Experience of working to criminal law processes and procedures.
\n\u2022 Demonstrable record of working with others in a team.
\n\u2022 Demonstrable experience of dealing with the public and business
\n\u2022 Computer Literate.<\/p>\n
