{"id":135,"date":"2019-01-19T18:43:27","date_gmt":"2019-01-19T18:43:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/?post_type=jobpost&#038;p=135"},"modified":"2019-01-19T18:43:27","modified_gmt":"2019-01-19T18:43:27","slug":"lead-investigators-warrington","status":"publish","type":"jobpost","link":"https:\/\/www.policejobs.co.uk\/?jobpost=lead-investigators-warrington","title":{"rendered":"LEAD INVESTIGATORS (WARRINGTON)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are currently recruiting Lead Investigators in the Warrington area.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a331,000 per year.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, applicants cannot have worked for Merseyside, South Yorkshire or West Midlands Police forces or have been a member of the Masonic Society.<\/p>\n<p>Main Duties and Responsibilities:<br \/>\n\u2022 Leading independent investigations including criminal and misconduct allegations in accordance with agreed guidelines.<br \/>\n\u2022 Conduct investigations within agreed timescales, budget and quality standards.<br \/>\n\u2022 Draft and agree Terms of Reference for allocated investigations<br \/>\n\u2022 Undertaking investigative actions, including interviewing and taking statements, preparing case files and making recommendations for criminal and\/or disciplinary action.<br \/>\n\u2022 Taking part in criminal, misconduct and inquest proceedings where necessary.<br \/>\n\u2022 Reporting to your Deputy Senior Investigator on investigation progress, areas of risk and resourcing requirements.<br \/>\n\u2022 Participating in the 24 hour on call facility and being prepared to work unsociable and extended hours.<br \/>\n\u2022 Visiting incident scenes and supervising scene management where required to ensure that all necessary action is taken to preserve and recover evidence.<br \/>\n\u2022 Attend post-mortems and brief the pathologist as required.<br \/>\n\u2022 Write investigation reports upon completion of the investigation for submission to the Commissioner.<br \/>\n\u2022 Communicating effectively with complainants, bereaved families and other internal and external stakeholders.<br \/>\n\u2022 Working as part of a multidisciplinary team with Commissioners, Legal and News teams<br \/>\n\u2022 Taking responsibility for personal development and achieving accreditation.<br \/>\n\u2022 Assist the Directorate in achieving its key deliverables.<\/p>\n<p>PERSON SPECIFICATION:<br \/>\nQualifications<br \/>\n\u2022 Essential: Good general education [minimum two A-levels or equivalent]<br \/>\n\u2022 Essential: Driving licence valid for driving in England &amp; Wales<br \/>\n\u2022 Desirable: Educated to degree level, minimum 2.2 (or equivalent)<\/p>\n<p>Experience:<br \/>\n\u2022 In leading investigations in the public, private sector or third sector within the last three years<br \/>\n\u2022 In conducting investigative interviews, evidence gathering, analysis and presentation.<br \/>\n\u2022 In making effective decisions based on analysis of existing and emerging information.<br \/>\n\u2022 Evidence of effective oral and written communication skills including report writing.<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience of engaging effectively with a diverse range of individuals and stakeholders<br \/>\n\u2022 Delivering a high standard of work within demanding timescales<br \/>\n\u2022 Identification of operational and organisational risk<br \/>\n\u2022 Working effectively in a changing environment.<\/p>\n<p>Skills and Abilities:<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to show initiative and adapt to a changing environment<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to recognise the development needs of yourself and be proactive in addressing them.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to prioritise and manage tasks effectively to deliver quality outcomes within demanding timescales.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to work effectively in a team with diverse ideas and people.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and adapt communication styles as appropriate.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to analyse complex information, identify the key issues and make effective decisions.<br \/>\n\u2022 Demonstrates the confidence and ability to cope with challenging situations.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to identify and respond to the diverse needs of individual and stakeholder groups.<\/p>\n<p>Apply online or contact us for more information on 0843 4559 999.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are currently recruiting Lead Investigators in the Warrington area. \u00a331,000 per year.
