We are currently recruiting for Compliance Officers based in Flintshire. 

Pay rate: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (Dependant on Experience)

Location: Flintshire – Hybrid working (1 day in office per week)

Hours: Full time – Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30

Contract duration: Permanent position

Purpose: This role is responsible for providing second-line oversight and guidance on a variety of compliance matters, including areas such as data protection and financial crime prevention. Working alongside senior compliance and legal professionals, the successful candidate will join the data protection team who can assist with DSARs, data incidents, and general privacy support. They will act as a trusted advisor across the business, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and supporting a robust compliance culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior compliance leads in the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the organisation’s compliance framework and annual compliance plan
  • Conduct monitoring reviews across multiple compliance areas, including defining scope, performing testing, and delivering clear reports on findings
  • Provide responsive guidance to internal teams on compliance-related queries, helping to promote awareness and adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Carry out core compliance activities, including suspicious activity reporting, anti-money laundering reviews, and financial crime or data protection checks
  • Review and maintain internal policies to ensure they remain accurate, relevant, and aligned with current regulations
  • Monitor regulatory developments and communicate relevant updates to ensure the organisation remains compliant with evolving requirements
  • Assist in identifying, assessing, and strengthening compliance risks and controls across the business
  • Perform ongoing customer and transaction screening in line with internal policies and regulatory expectations
  • Offer guidance on politically exposed persons (PEPs), sanctions, and related risk considerations
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of compliance training materials
  • Produce regular reporting on key risk and performance indicators for senior management
  • Support the preparation of materials for internal governance and oversight forums

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to identify issues and recommend improvements where appropriate
  • Experience dealing with higher-risk customers, sanctions screening, and PEP assessments
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience within a compliance function (minimum of approximately one year)
  • Practical knowledge of operating Compliance processes such as SAR’s
  • Working knowledge of compliance processes such as suspicious activity reporting
  • Experience interacting with stakeholders across different levels of an organisation
  • A relevant compliance qualification is advantageous but not essential
