We are currently recruiting an Intelligence Support Officer based in Manchester.
Responsibilities:
- To maintain and administer internal systems and centrally held registers in accordance with legislation and policy, to ensure all relevant details of liaison between staff and sources are recorded.
- To audit internal systems for accuracy and in order to evaluate the effective use of sources.
- To provide intelligence to the Force Intelligence Bureau on specialist areas of criminality.
- To provide training inputs on the work of the Unit to internal training courses and briefings.
- To undertake the training of officers in the internal computerised management system.
- To provide instruction and support to relevant staff in the operation of the Unit’s computerised information system.
- To assist in the processing of operationally sensitive applications.
- To liaise with other forces and external agencies when appropriate to exchange information and ensure best practice.
- To receive enquiries to the Unit, ensuring that they are dealt with discreetly and efficiently without inappropriately disclosing information to callers.
- To compile update reports on active sources.
- To compile reports for presentation to senior officers.
- To prepare all correspondence relating to reward issues affecting the force.
- To undertake administrative, clerical, inputting and word processing duties for the Unit.
- To maintain the security and confidentiality of all information at all times.
