We are currently recruiting Investigators in Felixstowe on a 9-month contract.
PLEASE NOTE: This role is based in Felixstowe until December 2019 and then moving to Stevenage or Chelmsford.

Job role: To undertake investigations arising from Border Force referrals at Ports and Airports in the South East of England. Identify lines of enquiry and evidential opportunities. Discharge disclosure responsibilities and to deliver criminal justice outcomes and disruptions.

Responsibilities may include:

Attendance at ports and/or airports to interview suspects.

Participate in operations and investigations, carry out evidence and intelligence gathering and preservation in order to build knowledge of organised crime and disrupt and degrade criminal capability.

Deliver actions in the investigative strategy deploying a range of law enforcement techniques.

Provide support to core investigative functions including disclosure/exhibits/authorities/presentation of written and oral evidence.

Ensure the quality secure handling and dissemination of intelligence, maintaining confidentiality, sensitivity and duty of care in line with Agency policy.

Carry out effective case management, create, maintain and update departmental records, including case files and reports.

Build good working relationships with both internal and external partners.

Conduct relevant health and safety procedures and report issues or identified risks in accordance with health and safety legislation and agency policy.

Skills/experience:

Qualified and experienced investigators.
PIP2 accredited or relevant experience.
Experience of CPIA and Disclosure Officer responsibilities.
Experience of investigations at UK Borders.
Experience of case management, interviewing suspects and witnesses, preparing case files and attendance at court.
Experience of analysing information from a wide range of sources.
Proven experience of working to timelines within a dynamic environment.
Information technology skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Analytical/data interpretation skills.
Written/drafting skills.
Strong team player.
Good understanding of UK and international legislation.
Extensive knowledge of disclosure/exhibits procedures.
