£25.00 Per Hour PAYE
Contract 12 months on going
Working Hours: 37 full time.
An opportunity has arisen for Police Staff Investigators within SO15 War Crimes Team (WCT). The WCT has national responsibility for the investigation of Core International Crimes, namely – Genocide, Crimes Against Humanity, War Crimes and Torture. The WCT sits within SO15 Investigations and alongside investigating War Crimes also conducts Counter Terrorism investigations.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a sound investigative background into major crime, knowledge of current affairs and an ability to produce detailed reports. The role will entail researching of historic material, taking protracted statements, working alongside the MIR, handling disclosure and potentially travel to countries outside the UK where offences are being investigated.
Must be required to eventually travel to the countries where the War crimes have taken place
The individual needs to be familiar with disclosure, using Holmes and dealt with disclosure in major investigations and /or complex enquiries
Essential Criteria
Experience in investigation of serious and complex crime
Excellent communication skills
Proven experience of building relationships and working with a range of partners and stakeholders
Good organisational, time management and planning skills
Be willing to deploy abroad
Desirable Criteria
Awareness of the International Letters of Request procedure
Experience of building relationships and working with cross Whitehall departments, foreign law enforcement and NGO’s
Knowledge of relevant war crimes legislation and international
