We are currently recruiting a Victims’ Bureau Officer based in Bournemouth on a 6 month contract.

The principal responsibility of the role is to provide a consistent end-to-end service for victims and to ensure that victims are kept informed at every stage of their investigation. They explain the victims’ journey and what to expect, refer to victims to Victim Support with consent. They also assist officers and staff in ensuring that Victims of Crime are updated in line with the Victims Code of Practice.

Key requirements:
Qualifications or experience that evidence a good standard of education especially literacy.
IT literate, experienced in using in-house Force Wide Systems and in addition Microsoft applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills especially relevant to this post is a good telephone manner.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability in handling difficult customers and sensitive issues.
Ability to work without close supervision and prioritise your work and the work of volunteers effectively.
The ability to manage a diverse and often a heavy workload, handling a wide variety of issues at the same Time
