We are currently recruiting a Training Designer based in Kidlington or Guildford (whichever suits you best) on an 18-week contract.

Experience in training design in relation to an either an EQUIP system, Payroll or Fleet would be ideal but this is not essential as long as you can design training.

Pay Rate: £300 Per Day.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Research, identify, design and deliver training programmes in line with Force aims, style and objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS:
. Training Needs Analysis / Target Audience Identification: Liaise with nominated specialists to establish required outcomes of a proposed training intervention. Includes identifying and documenting target audience through the ‘Audience Finder’ process. Maintain effective relationships throughout the project, ensuring that any emerging training needs which come to light during the project are recognised and acted upon.

. Training Solution Proposal: Act as subject matter expert in the area of training design to provide advice, guidance and propose solutions on the most appropriate design/delivery methods to meet the training need. Produce design solutions documents describing how the learning outcomes will be met through application of recognised pedagogic principles and learning strategies. Carry out research to propose most appropriate recommendations (e.g. approaches to the same issues by other police forces).

. Project Management / Delivery: Plan (using, where appropriate, methodology aligned with Prince 2 principles), manage and deliver on training design projects. Includes co-ordinating projects where subject matter experts undertake some of the detailed design work. Provide regular updates on progress; identify risks/issues. Attend project boards / implementation meetings etc to gather information / escalate issues / report on progress towards goals.

. Design / Produce Training Products Including Technology Enabled Learning: Research, prepare and plan learning materials, including detailed session plans, workplace resources, and assessment materials appropriate to the stated objectives of specific programmes and in line with the effective operational requirements of the Force. Design graphics, animations, video and digital illustrations for e-learning as defined in the design solution and specification using specialist software such as Adobe Flash, Captivate, and Photoshop. Where appropriate develop a visual approach for each project from storyboarding to final production. Direct video and photographic shoots with actors to a defined scenario. Define, create and influence e-learning design to achieve optimal levels of usability that includes screen design/layout/consistency and response times / Learning Management Systems (LMS).
