We are currently recruiting Investigators for the SCTaC team based in Cobalt Square, London on a 12-month contract. 12 Month Contract.

£17.03-£21.09 PH

SCTaC is an office that provides a 24 hour ‘front of house’ access to Specialist Crime, including Proactive Teams and Syndicates; MO2 Field Intelligence Officer Teams, and central SC units. It is responsible for the fast time tasking of SC proactive units and slow time assessment of Proactive operations through the nationally recognised MORiLE matrix. SCTaC is made up of three teams. The Firearms threat assessment desk FTAD which scans Intelligence for emerging firearms risks. Management of risk in law enforcement MORiLE team who risk asses all proactive operations and the SCTaC desk are the front of house for SC.

Roles and Responsibilities

Review and research Intelligence relating to firearms and to ensure that an appropriate response is completed both to reduce the risk of harm and to seek appropriate criminal justice outcomes.
Have access to and be able to search IIP, PND, CRIS, MERLIN, Crimint-Plus. PNC on Aware, CAD and other MPS IT systems.
Provide initial analysis of the risk areas identified during research..
To identify incidents that require a Specialist Crime reactive response through horizon and CAD scanning and support the coordination of SC reactive response.
To provide an initial triage for requests to assess what might be suitable for Specialist Crime (SC) escalation in line with SCTaC guidelines.
Maintain and update SCTaC documents, indices and trackers.
Monitor and action enquires into SCTaC Group Mailbox’s
Maintain deployment boards showing Specialist Crime availability, including Specialist Crime cars.
To have knowledge of the process for high risk (Dovyan’s) controlled deliveries and provide operational support where required.
Completion of the SCTaC Daily crime Bulletin
Represent SCTaC at various meetings
MORiLE score new proactive operations and review ongoing operations.

Essential Criteria
Vetting to CTC with willingness to undergo MV/SC and DV vetting if required
Ability to collect, assess and prioritise information and brief senior leaders to enable critical decisions to be made.
Good working knowledge of MPS IT systems including Microsoft Office, Excel, CRIS and CRIMINT.
CAD Browse/willingness to be trained
Self-motivated, the ability to work with minimum supervision.
Strong ability to communicate effectively in writing to produce structured reports.

Desirable Criteria
PNC (or willingness to be trained)
Experience of managing strategic resources
An good understanding of RIPA legislation
