We are currently recruiting an Investigations Investigator (Sheffield)
Contract up until 31st March 2021

Role:
To undertake investigations into network criminal activity.
Operation of MIR in accordance of MIRSAP.
Identification of lines of enquiry and evidential opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in operations and investigations, carry out evidence and intelligence gathering and preservation in order to build knowledge of organised crime and disrupt and degrade criminal capability.
  • Deliver actions in the investigative strategy deploying a range of law enforcement techniques.
  • Provide support to core investigative functions including disclosure/exhibits/authorities/presentation of written and oral evidence.
  • Ensure the quality secure handling and dissemination of intelligence, maintaining confidentiality, sensitivity and duty of care in line with Agency policy.
  • Carry out effective case management, create, maintain and update departmental records, including case files and reports.
  • Proactively contribute to the development of the Outside Enquiry Team and Investigative strand of Op Stovewood.
  • Build good working relationships with both internal and external partners.
  • Conduct relevant health and safety procedures and report issues or identified risks in accordance with health and safety legislation and agency policy.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified and experienced investigators.
  • RIPA/CPIA/Freedom of Information/MOPI trained.
  • PIP2 qualified.

Experience required:

  • Experience of working in a MIR on complex serious crime investigations, preferably using HOLMES and adhering to MIRSAP.
  • Experience of carrying out intelligence-led investigations utilising HOLMES, delivering criminal justice outcomes.
  • Experience of analysing information from a wide range of sources.
  • Proven experience of working to timelines within a dynamic environment.
  • Information technology skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Analytical/data interpretation skills.
  • Written/drafting skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Major Incident/Major Crime – specifically Major Incident Room Standard Administrative Procedures (MISRAP).
  • Working procedures deployed in force Personal Protection Units/Vulnerable persons units.
  • Good understanding of UK and international legislation affecting CSE/Vulnerable Persons.
  • Extensive knowledge of disclosure/exhibits procedures.
