We are currently looking to recruit Intelligence Analyst’s based in Dover, Felixstowe and Heathrow.

 

Role Summary

Conduct complex and wide ranging analysis in support of the National Crime Agency’s Annual Plan, National Control Strategy and other identified priorities in the fight to cut serious and organised crime.

Conduct cross-source data exploitation and make recommendations to support the proactive and reactive development of intelligence, to gain new insights into criminal activity and understand our impact on the threat presented by serious and organised crime.

 

Role Responsibilities, Outputs & Deliverables: 

Evaluate and assess intelligence, data and information gathered from multiple sources, understanding the availability and suitability of each source;

Carry out analysis in support of law enforcement objectives, using appropriate tools, techniques and systems;

Identify intelligence gaps, patterns, relationships, trends, threats and opportunities and make inferences, deduce new meaning and develop recommendations;

Produce, present and disseminate appropriate and relevant analytical outputs e.g. products for evidential or intelligence purposes or to inform tactical, operational or strategic decision-making;

Deliver briefings and presentations, making recommendations to support the decision making and risk management process;

Ensure appropriate and secure handling and dissemination of material in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures;

Develop expertise in one or more analytic specialisms (as required by role);

Maintain an awareness of developments and good practise in analysis.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Desirable 

IPP Accreditation in a relevant role;

Formally trained in Intelligence Analysis (NCA Analyst Foundation Part 1 and Part 2, Level 4 Diploma in Intelligence Analysis, NIAT, GIAT, DIAM, ANACAPA or equivalent).

Essential

Knowledge

Basic understanding of the use of intelligence, data, information and evidence by law enforcement agencies;

Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. CPIA, ECHR) and its impact on the role and Agency activity;

Awareness of analytical tools and techniques;

Good understanding of information management and data integrity issues.

 

Skills

Analytical/data interpretation skills;

Problem solving skills;

Writing/drafting/presentational skills;

Numeracy skills;

Interpersonal skills and effective communication; ability to influence, negotiate and persuade.

 

Experience

Experience of researching and gathering information from a wide range of sources;

Experience of assessing information, conducting analysis and presenting results;

Experience of evaluating information to determine its utility and application;

Experience of presenting findings from research or analysis.
