Initially 3 Month Temporary
37 Hours per Week: 9.00-17.00, Monday-Friday
£16.98 – £17.97 per Hour
(Approximate Salary: £32,284 – £34,574)

We currently require an experienced ‘Health & Wellbeing Technician’ to take on a Temporary contract based in Sheffield.

Position Details:
• Initially 3 Month Temporary contracts (Potential to be extended further)
• Full-time position: 37 Hours per Week
• Working Hours: 9.00-17.00, Monday-Friday

Job Description:
• Undertakes pre-employment medical screening by examining Health/Medical Questionnaires and carrying out initial health screening including audio testing as directed
• Carries out workplace and risk assessments, identifies appropriate solutions/advice to alleviate problems and recommends any changes necessary to Supervisors. Assists in the promotion of safe working practices and other occupational health matters
• Works closely with the Wellbeing Team to takes an active role in the attendance at health roadshows and other outreach programmes providing advice and general health screening. Provides advice, guidance and support to Supervisors and staff on matters affecting staff health and welfare with the aim of improving staff attendance and preventing absence
• Maintain records using the electronic patient management system. Extracts management information from the system to assist the Senior Occupational Advisor in the production of management reports
• Assists in the administering of audio-metric and vision tests for applicants and existing staff in at risk groups, e.g. Firearms, Roads Policing, Command Centre etc. Organises and carries out periodic health checks on staff in ‘at risk’ groups and monitor deviation from health norm standards of hygiene and control of infectious diseases with oversight from the OHU Advisors
• Continually seeks to improve and progress the delivery of Health and Wellbeing Services in conjunction with the Wellbeing Team and Senior Occupational Health Advisor

Requirements:

• OH surveillance case management experience and currently in practice or significant experience in OH practice as a technician
• Experience of conducting eyesight, audio, health surveillance, screening, medical checks and workplace assessments, risk assessments
• Experience of conducting pre-employment health screening
• Experience of providing health and wellbeing advice and guidance
• Well-developed interpersonal skills good communication and presentation skills
• Ability to interpret and analyse medical information and an understanding of when to escalate issues
• Able to write comprehensive reports
• Able to use electronic patient management system for recording and extracting information
• Demonstrates attention to accuracy and detail in all work undertaken
• Ability to work under pressure and meet set deadlines and work as part of a team
• Possess an appreciation of the need for confidentiality
• Flexible to meet the demands of the post
• Access to transport to travel around the Force area
