Evidence Review Officer
29th September 2020We are currently recruiting an Evidence Review Officer based in Merseyside.
Location: Merseyside
Working Hours: 37
Rate of pay £10.13 Paye
Contract: Fixed term 12 months
Within the Evidence Management Unit is an Evidence Review Team who review all the property that is currently residing within BCU long-term property stores. The team review all items on a case-by-case basis to determine whether the property warrants further retention and if so for how long. If the property can be disposed, it will either be returned to owner or physically disposed of.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing cases on Niche and using an agreed decision-making process to determine whether the property should be retained or disposed.
- Entering the property on Niche if it is to be retained and is not already recorded on Niche
- Updating Niche when property is disposed
- Physically disposing of property- arranging for it to go for sale or recycling.
- If the case pre-dates the introduction of Niche, recording the details of property to be retained on RAFTS database
Essential Requirements for the posts are:
- Must be accurate and methodical
- A full, clean UK driving licence and will be required to pass a driving assessment.
- Ability to work anywhere in the Force.
- Ability to undertake manual handling.
- Ability to deal with crime exhibits including items such as murder weapons/clothing etc.
Desirable requirements for the posts are:
- Experience of using Niche, computer literacy and data inputting.
- Experience of working with property
The Force will supply uniforms, personal protective equipment and will reimburse excess travel expenses.
