We are currently recruiting an Audit & Inspection Officer based in Preston on a 6 months ongoing contract. £12.87 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • To design, manage and conduct an audit function across all areas of Constabulary business to assess performance and identify emerging areas of risk for the organisation. To audit progress of the Constabulary response to the Force Management Statement (FMS). To design, manage and conduct an audit function to ensure recommendations from statutory reviews have been embedded by the organisation. To conduct audits in compliance with Inspection bodies.
  • To manage and conduct an audit function across all areas of Constabulary business, to assess compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Create and review audit plans across all HMICFRS PEEL (Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services) (Police Efficiency, Effectiveness, Legitimacy) and thematic inspections.
  • Brief Senior Officers and staff on audit findings and provide recommendations to improve performance.
  • Create and review audit plans across all business areas within the Force Management Statement
  • To manage and conduct audits in compliance with Inspection bodies such as HMICFRS
  • To assist in the provision of specialist advice to all staff, management and external bodies in the interpretation and communication of all matters relating to the business area.
  • Experience of auditing for compliance, highlighting errors, making recommendations for improvement and identifying the potential impact of outcomes on the organisation.
  • Experience of communicating complex and detailed information effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Recent experience and knowledge of inspections of public services by external bodies.
  • Experience of planning and organising workload for self and others; prioritising effectively, meeting deadlines, using own initiative to investigate problems and develop solutions, ensuring performance targets and business objectives are met whilst maintaining a high quality of service delivery within a busy pressurised environment.
  • Experience of producing comprehensive reports (graphs, statistics and tables) and analysis of management information to present to senior management to support and inform decision making.
